Cells Functions Food State Blood Transport O2 Co2

Blood transports O2 and CO2, digested food, nitrogenous waste products, hormones, stored food molecules, and immune components, while also maintaining body temperature and buffering pH.

La sangre transporta O2 y CO2, alimentos digeridos, productos de desecho nitrogenados, hormonas, moléculas de alimento de reserva y componentes inmunes, además de mantener la temperatura corporal y actuar como tampón del pH.

Front State functions of the blood.
Back Functions of the blood - transport of:
  • O2 to and CO2 from respiring cells
  • Digested food from small intestine
  • Nitrogenous waste products from cells to excretory organs
  • Hormones
  • Food molecules from storage mols to cells that need them
  • Platelets to damaged areas
  • Cells and antiboides involved in immune response

Other functions:
  • Maintaining steady body temp
  • Buffer to minimise pH changes
