Detected State Factors Heart Present Aorta Carotid Body

Heart rate is affected by blood pressure (detected by baroreceptors in the aorta/carotid arteries) and by changes in blood chemicals like CO2 concentration (detected by chemoreceptors in the aorta/carotid arteries and medulla).

Front State 2 factors that are detected by the body which affect heart rate, for each state where they are detected and by what.
Back Factors affecting heart rate:
  • Blood pressure - detected by baroreceptors present in aorta, vena cava and carotid arteries
  • Changes in levels of particular chemicals (e.g. CO2) - detected by chemoreceptors present in aorta, carotid artery & the medulla
