Diseases Behavior Genetic Habitat Explain Release Captively Bred

This card explains why some captively bred organisms may not be released back into the wild: loss of resistance to local diseases, learned behaviors, and genetic incompatibility.

Bu kart, bazı esirde yetiştirilen organizmaların vahşi doğaya salınamamasının nedenlerini açıklar: yerel hastalıklara karşı direnç kaybı, öğrenilen davranışlar ve genetik uyumsuzluk.

Front Explain why it may not be possible to release some captively bred organisms back into the wild.
Back Reasons for not releasing organisms:
  • Diseases - loss of resistance to local diseases
  • Behavior - some behavior is learned such as looking for food
  • Genetic races - genetic make-up of captive animals can be so different from original population that they cant interbreed
  • Habitat - habitat must be restored to allow reintroduction
