Energy Bonds C H Photosynthesis Requires Respiration Releases Stronger

This card uses the concept of bond energy to explain why photosynthesis requires energy from the sun and stores energy, whereas respiration releases energy to make ATP.

Bu kart, bağ enerjisi kavramını kullanarak fotosentezin neden güneş enerjisi gerektirdiğini ve enerji depoladığını, solunumun ise ATP üretmek için enerji saldığını açıklar.

Front Use the concept of bond energy to explain why photosynthesis requires energy from the sun and stores energy whereas respiration releases energy that can be used to make ATP.
Back Bond energy:
  • Bond making is exothermic - inorganic bonds are stronger than organic C-H bonds - release more energy when formed bc higher bond energy
  • Respiration - converting weak C-H bonds to stronger C=O and O-H bonds releases energy used for ATP
  • Photosynthesis - converting strong O-H and C=O to weak organic C-H bonds requires energy which is taken in from the sun
