Messenger Define Travels Bloodstream Binds Receptor Csm Formation

A first messenger travels in the bloodstream, binds to a cell membrane receptor, and causes the formation of a second messenger within the cell (e.g., a hormone). A second messenger triggers an enzyme cascade within the cell, leading to the intended response (e.g., cAMP).

Front Define first messenger & second messenger.
Back First messenger - travels through bloodstream, binds to receptor on CSM & causes formation of second messenger within cell (hormone)

Second messenger - triggers enzyme cascade within cell, causing the intended response (cAMP)
