Plant Explain Natural Cloning Occurs Runners Strawberry Lateral

Runners, like those of a strawberry plant, are lateral stems that grow from the parent plant and root where they touch the ground, forming new plants that become independent as the runner withers.

Front Explain how natural cloning occurs using runners + example plant.
Back Runners:
  • Example - strawberry plant
  • Lateral stem grows away from parent plant and roots develop where it touches the ground
  • New plant develops , runner withers away and clone is independent
