Ribosomes, responsible for protein synthesis, are non-membranous organelles composed of RNA, found freely or attached to the ER.
Ribosomes are the sites of protein synthesis and are not surrounded by a membrane. They can be free-floating or attached to the ER, and are composed of RNA made in the nucleolus.
