Shoots Types Roots Lateral Meristem Plants Describe Effect

Four types of meristems are: apical (tips of roots and shoots), lateral bud (gives rise to side shoots), lateral (causes roots and shoots to widen), and intercalary (between nodes, causes shoot elongation).

Front Name 4 types of meristem in plants, describe where they are and their effect on plant growth.
Back Types of meristem:
  • Apical - tips of roots and shoots
  • Lateral bud - give rise to side shoots
  • Lateral - in cambium, responsible for roots and shoots getting wider
  • Intercalary - between nodes, cause shoot elongation
