Ventricle Left Pumps Blood Lungs Wall Explain Thicker

The left ventricle has a thicker wall than the right ventricle because it pumps blood to the entire body, requiring more force, while the right ventricle pumps blood only to the lungs at a lower pressure to protect the delicate lung capillaries.

Front Explain why the wall of the left ventricle is thicker than the wall of the right ventricle.
Back Left vs right ventricle:
  • Left ventricle pumps oxygenated blood round the entire body while the right ventricle only pumps blood to the lungs which is a much shorter distance & also they are smaller
  • Left ventricle pumps further so it needs to generate more force during contraction
  • Right ventricle pumps to lungs where blood needs to be at lower pressure to prevent damage to thin capillaries in lungs
