Water Root Hair Moves Soil Low Potential Explain

Water moves from soil to root hair cells by osmosis because soil water has low mineral concentration (high water potential), while root hair cells' cytoplasm and vacuolar sap have many solutes (low water potential).

Front Explain why water moves from the soil into root hair cells.
Back Movement of water into root hair cells:
  • Soil water has low conc of dissolved minerals - high water potential
  • Cytoplasm and vacuolar sap of root hair cell has many solutes - low water potential
  • Water moves into root hair cells by osmosis
