Pop Eye Character Comic Originate Brought Big Screen Elzie

Front Where did Pop-Eye originate? How was he brought onto the big screen?
Back Pop-Eye was a character from Elzie Segar's comic series Thimble Theatre, distributed by the King Feature's syndicate. Although he only appeared  in 1929, 10 years into the comic (which was originally focused on Olive Oyl), Max Fleischer took to the character and tested him in a Betty Boop episode named Popeye the Sailor (1933)
