Back Paramount, seeing the success of the Superman comics, thought the production of a cartoon would be incredibly successful. The Fleischers originally turned them down, citing the incredible costs. After pitching $100,000 with the goal of scaring the studio out of the project, Paramount actually said yes, and the Fleischers were now obligated by contract to complete the project.
