Air Alveolar Composition Inspired Humidified Contact Mucous Membranes

The composition of alveolar air differs from inspired air because air is humidified, mixed with residual air, and alveoli exchange O2 and CO2 with the blood.

La composición del aire alveolar difiere del aire inspirado porque el aire se humidifica, se mezcla con aire residual y los alvéolos intercambian O2 y CO2 con la sangre.

Front How is the composition of inspired air different than alveolar air?
Back 1. Air is humidified by contact with mucous membranes
2. Fresh air mixes with residual air left from the previous respiratory cycle
3. Alveolar air exchanges Ox and CO2 w the blood
