Saltatory conduction occurs in myelinated axons where action potentials only jump between the Nodes of Ranvier, which have concentrated voltage-gated channels, making it much faster than continuous conduction.
1. Relatively few voltage gated channels in internodal region and are concentrated in the nodes of ranvier<div>2. AP only occurs in the nodes of ranvier </div><div>3. This is much faster than continuous conduction</div>
