Locus Alleles Character Organisms Inherits Copies Gene Parent

Text For each character, an organisms inherits two copies (that is, two alleles) of a gene, one from each parent.
Back Extra - There are exceptions to this rule in nature
- A genetic locus is represented twice in a diploid cell, once on each homolog of a specific pair of chromosomes
- Each of the two alleles at a particular locus come from each of the two parents, and therefore, the two alleles can be the same or different
