Front What was the Sumner-Brooks Incedent?
Back Sumner was a senator who gave a speech "The Crime Against Kansas" and he also personally attacked another SC senator, Brooks.  Butler's nephew, Brooks, then caned Sumner.  Brooks became a hero in the South.
