York Monopoly Gibbons V Ogden Wanted Give Steamboat

Front What was Gibbons v. Ogden (1821)?
Back New York wanted to give a monopoly to a steamboat company, but this conflicted with Congress charter.  Marshall ruled that New York monopoly was unconstitutional, federal govt. has control over interstate commerce.
