Amino Change Code Acid Substitution Mutation Affect Due

Due to the degenerate nature of the genetic code, a substitution mutation may have no effect if the change in a triplet still codes for the same amino acid.

Devido à natureza degenerada do código genético, uma mutação de substituição pode não ter efeito se a mudança num triplete ainda codificar o mesmo aminoácido.

Front Why might a substitution mutation not have an affect?
Back Due to the genetic code being degenerate and the amino acids being able to be coded by more than 1 triplet. A change in a triplet may not change the amino acid as the change may still code for the same amino acid
