Acetylcholine Diffuses Synapse Acetylcholinesterase Synaptic Cleft Breaks Actetyl

After diffusing across the synapse, acetylcholine is broken down into acetyl and choline by acetylcholinesterase, which are then resynthesized into acetylcholine using ATP.

Dopo la diffusione attraverso la sinapsi, l'acetilcolina viene scomposta in acetile e colina dall'acetilcolinesterasi, che vengono poi ri-sintetizzate in acetilcolina utilizzando ATP.

Front What happens to acetylcholine after it diffuses across the synapse?
Back - acetylcholinesterase in the synaptic cleft breaks down acetylcholine into actetyl and choline
- diffuse into presynaptic neurone

- ATP produced by mitochondria in respiration used to resynthesise acetylcholine
