Arteriole Pores Glomerular Filtrate Form Afferent Wider Efferent

Front How does glomerular filtrate form?
Back - afferent arteriole is wider than efferent arteriole
- generates high hydrostatic pressure in glomerulus

- water and small molecules forced through

- pores between capillary endothelial cells,
- basement membrane, and
- pores between podocytes

- by ultrafilitration
- into Bowman's capsule

- proteins and RBCs are too large to pass through, so remain in capillaries
