The estrous cycle is a reproductive cycle in female mammals (excluding humans and some primates) where the uterine lining is reabsorbed, and sexual receptivity occurs only during estrus.
Um ciclo reprodutivo característico de mamíferos fêmeas, exceto humanos e alguns outros primatas, no qual o endométrio não grávido é reabsorvido em vez de shedding, e a resposta sexual ocorre apenas durante o meio do ciclo no estro.
