An electrochemical gradient is the diffusion gradient of an ion, affected by both the concentration difference across a membrane (a chemical force) and the ion's tendency to move relative to the membrane potential (an electrical force).
Un gradiente electroquímico es el gradiente de difusión de un ion, afectado tanto por la diferencia de concentración del ion a través de una membrana (fuerza química) como por la tendencia del ion a moverse en relación con el potencial de membrana (fuerza eléctrica).
