The Major Histocompatibility Complex (MHC) is a group of genes encoding cell-surface proteins for antigen presentation; foreign MHC molecules on transplanted tissue can cause immune rejection.
Complexo principal de histocompatibilidade (MHC) é uma família de genes que codificam um grande conjunto de proteínas de superfície celular que funcionam na apresentação de antígenos. Moléculas MHC estranhas em tecidos transplantados podem desencadear respostas de células T que podem levar à rejeição do transplante.
