Membrane Complex Atp Synthase Proteins Provide Port Protons

ATP synthase is a complex of membrane proteins that allows proton passage and uses the energy from this gradient to synthesize ATP in the electron transport chain.

La ATP sintasa es un complejo de proteínas de membrana que permite el paso de protones y usa la energía de este gradiente para sintetizar ATP en la cadena de transporte de electrones.

Front ATP synthase
Back A complex of several membrane proteins that provide a port through which protons diffuse. This complex functions in chemiosmosis with adjacent electron transport chains, using the energy of a hydrogen ion (proton) concentration gradient to make ATP.  [These] are found in the inner mitochondrial membrane of eukaryotic cells and in the plasma membrane of prokaryotes.
