Secreted Cells Interferon Protein Antiviral Immune Regulatory Functions

Interferon is a protein with antiviral or immune-regulating functions. Interferons-α and -β help neighboring cells resist viral infections, while interferon-γ activates macrophages.

Interferon é uma proteína que tem funções antivirais ou de regulação imunológica. Interferons-α e -β, secretados por células infectadas por vírus, ajudam células próximas a resistir à infecção viral; interferon-γ, secretado por células T, ajuda a ativar macrófagos.
