Spatial Summation Phenomenon Neural Integration Membrane Potential Postsynaptic

Spatial summation is the integration of multiple postsynaptic potentials generated simultaneously at different synapses affecting the overall membrane potential.

A phenomenon of neural integration in which the membrane potential of the postsynaptic cell is determined by the combined effect of EPSPs or IPSPs produced nearly simultaneously by different synapses.
