Cells Histamines Gaps Capillary Pathogen Inflammatory Response Injury—Pathogens

Text INFLAMMATORY RESPONSE
1. injury—pathogens enter
2. cry for help—damaged mast cells release histamines
3. histamines work—makes gaps in capillary walls bigger
4. diapedesis—white blood cells squeeze through gaps in capillary walls; they're attracted to area of pathogen thanks to histamines. swelling—plasma flows out into tissue space (to flush out some of the pathogens and bring clotting proteins)
5. phagocytosis—WBCs consume and digest pathogen
