Cell Host Viral Components Viruses Explain Lytic Pathway

The lytic pathway of a virus involves attachment to the host cell, entry of genetic material, replication and synthesis of viral components, assembly of new viruses, and lysis of the host cell.

La vía lítica del virus implica la unión a la célula huésped, la entrada del material genético, la replicación y síntesis de componentes virales, el ensamblaje de nuevos virus y la lisis de la célula huésped.

Front
Explain the Lytic pathway
Back
-Virus attaches to receptor on the host cell
-Genetic material of virus moves across the cell membrane into the host cell
-Replication and synthesis of new viral components (e.g. protein coat)
-Assembly of new viral components into new viruses
-Lysis (burst) of infected host cell
-Release of many fully assembled viruses
