Core Potato Solution Measure Mass Tubes Gently Blot

Front
What do we do when investigating osmosis? Desscribe this core practical
Back
1. Pour 30cm3 of each sucrose solution into separate boiling tubes
2. Make 15 potato cores using the same potato. Cut each core into 5cm lengths using a ruler to measure
3. Gently blot the cores on paper towel to remove surface moisture
4. Measure + record the mass of each potato core using a top pan balance
5. Place each potato cores, one in each tube of solution, noting the mass of each chip in each solution
6. Cover the tubes and leave them for exactly 30 minutes
7. Remove each chip (from the solution one at a time; gently blot its surface on paper towel)
9. Measure and record the mass of each potato core
