Back | This spider's latin name is Latrodectus hesperus/mactans/variolus (depending on region), and the female measures approx. 2" long. It is usually black and has a distinctive, bright red-orange marking in the shape of an hourglass on its abdomen. The female is larger and more toxic than the male. They are found in every state except Alaska. |
