Back This is a blunt chest injury caused by a sudden, direct blow to the chest over the heart that occurs during the critical portion of a heartbeat, possibly resulting in immediate cardiac arrest. The blunt force causes a lethal abnormal heart rhythm called ventricular fibrillation.
