Patient Position Recovery Maintain Clear Airway Unconscious Injured

Front What is the recovery position?
Back This position is used to maintain a clear airway in an unconscious patient who is not injured and is breathing on his or her own with a normal respiratory rate and adequate tidal volume. The patient is rolled onto their left sidewith a hand underneath the head for support. Never put a patient in this position if you suspect spinal trauma.
