Pulmonary Blood Embolism Passage Clot Formed Vein Legs

Front What is a pulmonary embolism?
Back This is the passage of a blood clot formed in a vein, usually in the legs or pelvis, that breaks off and circulates through the venous system, enters the pulmonary artery, where it becomes lodged, significantly decreasing or blocking blood flow. Arterial carbon dioxide rises, and oxygen level may drop enough to cause cyanosis.
