The same word can also be used as a verb, "to discount": "Does your store ever discount digital cameras?" A "discount (store or business)" is a store or business that offers very low prices: "Do you shop at a regular grocery store or a discount store?" Or, "You might be able to find cheaper airfare if you fly on a discount airline." As a verb, "to discount (something)" means to think that something isn't important or to think that something probably isn't true: "They discounted her opinion, thinking that she didn't really know what she was talking about."
