Cells Layers Consists Cortex Hypodermis Dicot Stem Arranged

In a dicot stem, the cortex, located between the epidermis and pericycle, consists of hypodermis (collenchyma), parenchyma, and endodermis (starch sheath).

in a {{c4::dicot stem}} the cells arranged in multiple layers between the {{c5::epidermis}} and the {{c5::pericycle}} constitute the {{c1::cortex}}. the {{c1::cortex}} consists of {{c2::three}} sub zones . the outer hypodermis consists of a few layers of {{c3::collenchyma}} cells just below the epidermis, which provide mechanical strength to the young stems. cortical layers below the hypodermis consists of rounded thin-walled parenchyma cells with conspicuous intercellular spaces. the innermost layer of the cortex is called the {{c4::endodermis}} or the {{c4::starch sheath}}
