Cell cycle: 1) In a cell that's not dividing, chromosomes aren't visible and DNA is in long strings. 2) Before division, the cell grows and increases its subcellular structures. 3) DNA is duplicated, so one copy is for each cell. DNA forms an X-shaped chromosome, with each arm being an exact duplicate of the other.
