Hcg Stick Antibodies Test Zone Urine Attached Present

Pregnancy tests involve applying urine to a test stick; if HCG is present, enzymes attached to antibodies release a dye in the reaction zone and control zone, indicating a positive result.

Las pruebas de embarazo implican aplicar orina a una tira reactiva; si hay HCG, las enzimas unidas a los anticuerpos liberan un tinte en la zona de reacción y la zona de control, lo que indica un resultado positivo.

Original 1) [[oc1::Urine is applied to the exposed end of the stick and travels up the absorbant fibres]]
2) [[oc2::Urine will reach the reaction zone first, where antibodies that have enzymes that can turn on dye molecules attached to them bind to the HCG hormone]]
3) [[oc3::The urine will carry the hormones, to the test strip, where there are more antibodies for HCG stuck down to it, so it can't move, forming a sandwich assay]]
4) [[oc4::The attached enzyme releases the dye ]]
5) If no HCG is present, [[oc5::dye will not be released as it can't stick to the test stick]]
6) [[oc6::Unbound antibodies from the reaction zone should end up at the control zone and release more dye, if not, the test was faulty]]
