Blood Veins Lower Walls Describe Structure Pressured Thick

Veins have thinner walls than arteries due to lower blood pressure, a wider lumen to aid flow, and valves to prevent backflow.

Les veines ont des parois moins épaisses que les artères car la pression sanguine y est plus basse, une lumière plus large pour faciliter le flux, et des valves pour empêcher le reflux sanguin.

Front Describe the structure of veins
Back
  • The blood is lower pressured so walls don't need to be as thick as artery walls
  • Veins have a bigger lumen than arteries to help the blood flow despite the lower pressure
  • Have valves to help keep the blood flowing in the right direction
