- Tumour cells can be grown very easily
- Therefore a mouse B-lymphocyte is fused with a tumour cell to create a cell called hybridoma
- Hybridoma cells can be cloned to get lots of identical cells
- These cells produce the same antibodies
- The antibodies can be collected and purified
