Lungs Part Thorax Top Body Separated Lower Abdomen

The lungs are in the thorax, the top part of the body, separated from the abdomen by the diaphragm, protected by the ribcage, and surrounded by the pleural membranes.

Text The lungs are in the thorax. It is the top part of our body. It is separated from the lower part of the body (the abdomen) by a muscle called the diaphragm. The lungs are like big pink sponges and are protected by the ribcage. They are surrounded by the pleural membranes.
