Aorta Ascending Structure Arises Left Ventricle Beginning Aortic

Front Ascending aorta
Back Structure: arises from the left ventricle beginning at the aortic valve - is the portion of the aorta within the pericardial sac (below level of sternal angle).
a) originates posteriorly to pulmonary trunk
b) points anteriorly and to the right

Function: takes oxygenated blood from the heart to be distributed throughout the body
