Atrium Ventricle Atrioventricular Valve Tricuspid Structure Connection Formed

Structure: the connection between the right atrium and ventricle, formed of three cusps attached to the cardiac skeleton and connected to the ventricular wall by papillary muscles

Function:
1. opens during diastole to allow bloodflow from atrium to ventricle
2. closes during systole to prevent backflow intro atrium when ventricle contracts
