Dome Ascends 5th Midclavicular Line Diaphragm Structure Horizontal

Front Diaphragm
Back Structure: a horizontal muscle attached to the chest wall (all sides). Surface projection (anteriorly):
1. Right dome - ascends as high as 5th rib's midclavicular line
2. Left dome - ascends to 5th intercostal space's midclavicular line

Function: divides the thoracic and abdominal cavities, allows for respiration
