Lung Mediastinal Structures Impression Left Surface Medial Portion

Front Mediastinal surface of the lung
Back (Medial surface)

Structure: the portion of the lung that faces the mediastinal viscera and structures

Function: some mediastinal structures make impressions on the lung
a) Cardiac impression - formed by right atrium (on right lung) and left ventricle (on left lung)
b) Aortic impression - (left lung) arches over and posterior to the root of the lung
