Pulmonary Ventricle Blood Trunk Valve Semilunar Structure Shirt Pocket

Front Pulmonary valve
Back (Semilunar valve)

Structure: three "shirt-pocket" cusps in between the right ventricle and the pulmonary trunk, have crescentic pouches (sinuses) inside the cusps.

Function:
1. Open by flattening during systole to allow blood to flow from right ventricle into pulmonary trunk
2. Close by swelling up during diastole to prevent backflow of blood from the pulmonary trunk into the right ventricle
