Back Structure: thick artery arising from the right ventricle, beginning at the pulmonary valve.
a) Anterior-most of heart's great vessles
b) Inclines anteriorly and to the left
c) divides into right and left pulmonary arteries

Function: takes deoxygenated blood from the right ventricle to be brought to the lungs
