Space Spinal Epidural Extradural Structure Dura Mater Periosteum

Structure: the space between the dura mater and the periosteum and ligaments that line the spinal cord. Is filled with connective tissue containing:
a) fat
b) vertebral venus plexus

Function: allows for independent movement of the spine without twisting or pulling on the spinal cord and its nerves
