Surface Parietal Pleura Structure Serous Membrane Covering Adherent

Front Parietal pleura
Back Structure: Serous membrane covering and adherent to the structures of the mediastinum, upper surface of the diaphram, and inner surface of the chest wall (around the lung).

Function: innervated by somatosensory neurons that carry pain information to the spinal cord via intercostal nerves or phrenic nerve.
