Follicle Menstrual Cycle Luteal Phase  Ruptured Develops Slowly

Front menstrual cycle - luteal phase 
Back ruptured follicle develops into a slowly degenerating corpus luteum, which secretes high levels of progesterone and less oestrogen - cause endometrium thickening and inhibits FSH, LH to prevent follicle development
