Front | There are six chemical contraceptive methods, good luck getting them all. |

Back | Spermicides, a cream that kills sperm, must be placed inside the vagina before intercourse. Contraceptive pill, contains chemicals which prevent ovulation, must be taken every day but is otherwise very effective. Disclaimer: May cause mood swings, weight gain or circulatory disease like CHD. Must be prescribed. Intra-uterine device (IUD), small, T-shaped copper device inserted by a doctor where it prevents implantation, could cause uterine infection. Intra-uterine system (IUS), similar to IUD, except it releases progesterone for a long time (up to 5 years) Contraceptive implant, small plastic tube inserted under the skin in the arm, also releases progesterone for a long time (about 3 years) Contraceptive injection, progesterone injection, lasts 8-12 weeks. |
